Impaired risky decision-making in patientswith chronic pain

慢性疼痛患者受損的風險決策

Presenter:Mr. Vincent, Xinglin Zeng (曾星霖

It is unclear whether the risky decision-making performance was influenced by long-lasting aberrant pain stimulus. In this talk, I will introduce our recent findings about the impaired risky decision-making performance of chronic pain patients, revealed by computational models and concurrent fNIRS. The joint behavioral modeling and neuroimaging techniques open a new avenue for fully understanding the cognitive impairment of risky decision-making associated with chronic pain. I will share my thoughts on the findings and how computational models can be effective tools in clinical applications.

Bio

Mr. Xinglin Zeng is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Prof. Zhen Yuan's bioimaging lab at Faculty of Health Sciences and Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences at University of Macau. His research aims to explore the neural mechanisms of decision-making and cognitive impairment of neurodegenerative diseases. He specializes in multimodal neuroimaging tools, including fNIRS, EEG, and fMRI.
